Sax star in lunchtime recital

Saxophone supremo, Mick Foster is set to wow the audience at a 45-minute free lunchtime concert on Wednesday 9th February.

Mick performs at top jazz festivals and major venues throughout the year. He is often heard with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Jazz Orchestra.

He teaches sax at Trinity College of Music, London , and is a visiting lecturer at music colleges throughout the UK .

For the concert in Southend he will be accompanied by professional pianist Yeu-Meng.

Since studying at the Royal College of Music, Yeu-Meng has developed a highly successful career as a solo performer, chamber player and accompanist,

This is the latest event in the Council's popular series of free lunchtime concerts, which give a platform for talented performers and enable residents and visitors to enjoy excellent music in the comfortable setting of the Civic Centre.

The concert starts at 12.15pm in the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue , Southend SS2 6ER
