Adult Social Care – tell us your views

Published Friday 21st January 11 in Council - news and information releases news

Residents who benefit from Adult Social Care services in Southend are being asked what they think about the help they receive.

From Monday 17th January, a randomly selected sample of 900 people who use Adult Social Care services will be sent survey forms to fill in, seeking their views.

Each Council is required by the Government to carry out this national survey so their services can be compared across the country. While previous surveys canvassed one particular user group or service each year, this one will instead cover all groups, and for the first time will also include people with learning disabilities and residents of care homes.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Adult Social Care, Health and Housing, Councillor Anna Waite, said: "We urge all those who receive a survey form to fill it in as fully as they can, as their responses will help us continue to improve services.

"The results will give us valuable data so we can account for what has been achieved so far, as well as enabling us to support local services and help people make better choices about their care. If anyone wishes to discuss the survey or needs help in completing it, then please contact us on 01702-215000."
