Young peoples’ community groups wishing to branch out into cycling could qualify for grants of up to £2,000.
To find out more, and to see if your organisation may be eligible, you are invited to book your place at a special meeting on Monday 31st January.
This event, at 4.30pm in the Johnson Room at the Tickfield Centre, Tickfield Avenue , Southend SS2 6LL will be led by Alex Wise, Bike Club Officer for Cambridge , Colchester and Southend.
Bike Club is a National Organisation which helps to fund projects of up to £2,000 to lead cycle activities for young people aged from ten to 20.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Transport and Planning, Councillor Mark Flewitt says: "This is another exciting opportunity available as part of Southend's Cycle Town project.
"It is aimed especially at encouraging young people to cycle, to enable them to join positive activities and help develop their health and wellbeing while cycling safely.
"We hope the meeting on Monday 31st January will help those who are already in a community organisation which is keen to develop a cycling section, but will also assist those wishing to be part of a new bike club."

Bike Club is a joint initiative led by ContinYou , UK Youth and CTC, the national cyclists' organisation.
The project works with children, young people and families to enable learning and encourage healthy lifestyles through cycling-based activities.
