Budget cuts – Youth and Connexions

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is concerned that inaccurate information has been circulated regarding the impact of the proposed budget cuts on the Youth and Connexions Service.
This kind of misinformation causes unnecessary distress to children and families in the community.
Unlike other authorities our plans do not include the closure of any of our youth centres or a discontinuation of our Connexions service.
They do include targeting our resources to ensure that we continue to support the most vulnerable residents in the borough.
Despite claims to the contrary there are NO PLANS to make cuts to Club Inclusion, Chill or Cool as they support children and young people with specific needs.
