Southend -on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture, Councillor Derek Jarvis, said: "This a most enjoyable way for people to gain some exercise for free while meeting other like-minded people at the same time.

"We hope it will also introduce people to parts of south east Essex they may not previously have explored.

"These walks show another example of the way authorities in this area are working together to make the most of the Olympic Legacy."
