Join a hearty cycle ride for fun and fund-raising!

 

 

This brand new 74-mile cycle challenge from Cambridge to Shoebury East Beach on Saturday 26th March, also incorporates a short family ride.

Everyone taking part in the event, organised by the British Heart Foundation, Cycle Southend and Cycle Cambridge, will receive a medal, a free T shirt and will be entered in a free prize draw.

Among the prizes are dinner, bed and breakfast, donated by the Park Inn Palace and two tickets to see The Buddy Holly Story, donated by The Cliffs Pavilion.

Meanwhile all children registered to take part on the family ride will be entered into another prize draw to win a family pass donated by Kids Kingdom and a wristband, donated by Adventure Island .

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Head of Planning and Transport, Andrew Meddle said: "This is a great opportunity for experienced cyclists to test their stamina on a 74-mile challenge, or for families to be able to cycle together on the shorter ride, starting at Shoebury East Beach .

"Cycle Southend is committed to promoting cycling as a fun and healthy activity and sustainable means of transport.

"Taking part in this event is a fantastic way to improve health while raising vital funds to help the British Heart Foundation continue its pioneering lifesaving work."  

To join the ride, you can register online at: bhf.org.uk /camtocoast, or register on the day.  

The 74-mile ride starts at Jesus Green, Cambridge between 7.30am and 9am. This ride costs £20 per person, and participants must be over £14. The ten-mile family ride starts from Shoebury East Beach at 11am. This ride costs £5 each for adults, but is free for children.  

Both rides finish at Shoebury East Beach near the Car Park.
