There is still a chance to book a place at the Swimathon starting at 6pm on Friday 8th April in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care, and be part of the world's biggest fundraising swim.
This is a fabulous way to combine fitness and raising money for a very worthy cause, and there are various possible challenges - including the ultimate 5km swim, a 1.5km or a 2.5km swim - or a team 5km swim.
So far around 22,000 have signed up to join the event nationwide at around 580 pools across the country. For more details or to book your place, contact http://www.swimathon.org/
Meanwhile, crash courses in swimming are also being offered at Belfairs Swim Centre, Fairview Gardens, Off Eaton Road, Leigh, SS9 3PE over the Easter Holidays, for children of school age.
These half hour classes take place from 9am and 9.30am on Monday 11th April to Friday 15th April costing £19 for the five sessions, and at the same times from Monday 18th April to Thursday 21st April, costing £15.20 for the four sessions.
