Atlantis sails in on a fair wind

The magnificent tall ship Atlantis will set pulses racing when she arrives in Southend tonight (Tuesday 31st May) – a day ahead of schedule.
A limited number of places are available on a series of unique day-trips being undertaken by the spectacular three-masted barque up to and including Sunday 5th June.
In between times this spectacular vessel will be moored at the end of Southend Pier - and everyone is invited to step aboard for a tour of the decks.
Residents and visitors will be able to explore or to set sail on this historic three-masted barque launched in Hamburg , Germany , in 1905.
The Atlantis, which was launched in Hamburg in 1905, has a large single-level upper deck above an enormous saloon.
Its decorations reflect the traditional style of the world's most lavish ocean liners.
Admission to the Open Ship sessions on board the Atlantic is just £1 for adults and free for under-12s with an accompanying adult.
Day trips cost £35 for adults and £20 for children. Those aged from 12 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £85.
Refreshments are available in both the saloon and from a central bar on the upper deck.
The ship's programme is as follows:
- Thursday 2nd June - Open ship from 10am to 6pm
- Friday 3rd June - Sailing from 9am to 12 noon. Open ship from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. Sailing from 5pm to 8pm
- Saturday 4th June - Sailings from 9am to12 noon, 1pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm
- Sunday 5th June - Open ship from 10am to 6pm
