New season of free lunchtime concerts!

A sparkling new series of free Lunchtime Concerts promoted by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council begins on Wednesday 14th September.
Legendary jazz duo Digby Fairweather and Tony Compton will launch the new season with a 45-minute performance starting at 12:15pm in the Council Chamber at Southend Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend.
The next concert on Wednesday 12th October specially features original music composed and performed by local composers, while the performance on Wednesday 16th November stars soprano Jenny Haxell and Richard Reed (piano).
Concerts continue in the new year with solo piano, jazz singing, brass quintet, woodwind ensemble and saxophone and piano duos.
All are welcome to attend these short, free concerts, which offer a platform for some of Southend's talented young musicians.
