Progress Road – night time lane closures - Amendment

Between the hours of 8pm tonight (Wednesday 14th April) and 6.30am tomorrow (Thursday 15th April) traffic will not be able to access The Fairway from the A127 Southend Arterial Road.
This is to enable public utility works in advance of the Progress Road Junction Improvement scheme, part of the £25m Better Southend initiative.
The closure of The Fairway to traffic coming from the A127 was to have taken place between 8pm on Tuesday 13th April and 6.30am today, but had to be postponed due to factors beyond the Council's control.
Traffic exiting The Fairway will be reduced to a single lane but work will not require the exit to be closed.
At the same time ducts will be laid across the A127 east of The Fairway, necessitating the closure of a single lane of the Arterial Road in both directions.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council apologises to local residents for any inconvenience the works may cause.
