Visit the Cliffs Pavilion this Sunday, 4th September to discover how to get involved in art, dance, drama and music and more!
This spectacular open day at the Cliffs in Station Road, Westcliff, from 10:30am till 3:30pm, will showcase the wealth of exciting opportunities offered by Southend arts organisations.
Southend Arts Council is holding the event, which features a huge variety of different groups hosting displays, inviting new members and publicising forthcoming shows and events.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "We have an extremely lively arts scene in Southend, and this open day is an ideal way to explore a tempting choice of different activities.
"If you have ever wanted to tread the boards, join a choir or orchestra, embroider, or learn how to take good photographs, then come along to find out more.
- A poetry recital from Southend Poetry Group
- A flamenco dancing demonstration from Southend Flamenco
- Southend Operatic and Dramatic Society members performing from songs from 'Beauty and the Beast'
- Little Theatre Club members performing songs from 'Jesus Christ Superstar'
- Leigh Operatic and Dramatic Society performing songs from 'The Secret Garden'
- Two youth rock bands, The Paperboys and Xeric, will also be performing during the afternoon
