Limbering up for Big Dance Day

Zumba class members are set to demonstrate just one of the addictive activities offered at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre’s forthcoming Big Dance Day!
Their regular class on Friday 7th October at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, off Eastern Avenue, Southend, is highlighting the major event on Sunday 16th October when residents and visitors can try a huge variety of dance styles and cultures.
Throughout that day, starting at 10am, there will be an aerobics warm up session followed by classes in Zumba, Bollywood, Flex, Street Dance, Flamenco, Salsa, Bellydancing, African dance and Cheerleading. As well all these dance opportunities, Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga are also available
For just £3, participants can try as many classes as they wish. No experience is necessary for any of the sessions, but under 14-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult.
The Big Dance Day, is part of the town's "Out of the Box" multi-cultural festival, to celebrate Southend's diverse communities, and is supported by Southend's Legacy 2012.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "This day is an excellent and very affordable way to explore different dance styles from over the world, while keeping fit and having great fun.
"Those flocking to the popular Zumba Class at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre have already discovered how enjoyable it can be!"
