The acclaimed Armonico Consort, a sparkling vocal ensemble, is set to give an atmospheric performance at the Plaza Centre on Friday 14th October.
This starts at 8pm at the venue in Southchurch Road, Southend, and forms the first event in Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's new Concert Season series.
The vibrant programme includes pieces by composers such as Byrd, Tallis, and Sheppard, as well as favourite classics such as Allegri's 'Miserere', Barber's 'Adagio', and works by Purcell and Victoria.
Now celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Armonico Consort, made up of eight professionals with flourishing solo careers, was initially formed to specialise in Baroque and Renaissance Music.
It is renowned for staging innovative and imaginative programmes. As well as giving this concert, the group is also due to work with pupils at St George's Roman Catholic Primary School, Shoebury, to help them produce a musical in a day.
