A free badminton taster session is on offer at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, Garon Park, of Eastern Avenue, Southend, on Saturday 15th October.
From 10am till 12 noon, experienced player, David Hardman will be coaching players from 17 years old upwards.
All levels of player are welcome to take part, and everyone involved will be included in organised match play sessions, and given the chance to join other regular sessions at the centre.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "This is a great opportunity to introduce new players to the game or to tempt back those who haven't picked up a racquet in years.
"A free taster session like this is an ideal way to get the feel of the sport and is a fantastic means of encouraging people to take it up again - or for the first time - on a regular basis."
