Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Cultural Development team is staging a Music for Fun workshop during half term on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October.
The workshop is open to all children and young people aged seven and upwards who play a musical instrument.
It takes place at Southend High School for Girls in Southchurch Boulevard from 10am to 2.45pm on the Thursday and 10am to 12.30pm on the Friday and costs £14 per child (£13 with an Advantage Card).
All instruments are welcome including strings, woodwind, recorders, brass, percussion, keyboards & guitars. The young players will be put into groups according to their experience.
The beginners group is for children up to grade 1 standard, the intermediate group is for grades 2 to 4 and the advanced group is for grade 5 and upwards.
Each group is directed by an experienced music tutor who will introduce some new music and some musical games during the sessions.
The workshop lasts a day and a half and will take place from 10am to 2.45pm on Thursday and 10am to 12.30pm on Friday 28. At 12 noon on Friday there will be an informal concert for family and friends who can come along and hear what the groups have been working on.
This is a wonderful opportunity for young players to learn new music, make new friends and to learn something about their own instruments and others.
