Southend Band is giving a free Victorian-style Christmas concert in Southend bandstand in Priory Park on Sunday 18th December

Take a moment to pause from wrapping those Christmas presents.

Instead, wrap yourself in scarves, gloves, and as many layers as you can and prepare yourself for some outdoor festive entertainment.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has organised a free concert at the Bandstand in Priory Park, Victoria Avenue, Southend, which will be full of seasonal music and Christmas Carols.

Taking place on Sunday 18th December, the Southend Band will be coming together from 2pm - 3pm at the Southend Bandstand to fill crowds with some Christmas magic.

Seating will be provided, so the whole family can come down, join in with some merry singing and enjoy hot drinks and tasty food from the park cafĂ©.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "This is an event that has been happening every Christmas for the last four years, so we are delighted to have it here again.

"Christmas is an expensive time, so free family treats like this are important for bringing the community together and spreading Christmas spirit!"
