A multi-faith event aimed at strengthening Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s relationship with local faith communities took place at the Tickfield Centre, Southend.
More than 70 members of different faith communities attended the event, which was organised by the Council and local faith groups.
Presentations were given by the Faith Based Regeneration Network, Love Southend and the Southend Faiths Forum.
Children from the Malayalee Association also treated attendees to a cultural and Bollywood dance.
Council Leader Nigel Holdcroft said: "We are very fortunate in Southend to have a very active and diverse range of faith groups who are providing support and facilities to a wide range of the community on an 'open access' basis.
"It is clear from contributions made during this event that working to improve the partnership between the Council and its different faith groups mean we can build strong foundations to further develop and improve facilities for our residents, while at the same time fostering better links with hard-to-reach groups."
