A127 Lane Closures
Published Wednesday 30th June 10 in Council - news and information releases news
Contrary to suggestions made recently in the local media, there are NO planned peak-time lane closures on the A127 as a result of work on the Cuckoo Corner and Progress Road schemes.
However, there are planned overnight lane closures at Cuckoo Corner when single lane running will be in operation to allow for the provision of a workforce safety zone.
During the daytime off-peak there are also planned single lane closures on Prince Avenue adjacent to Cuckoo Corner, and on Victoria Avenue .
These arrangements will be in force Monday to Saturday inclusive.
On the A127 at Progress Road there are planned overnight lane closures Monday to Friday inclusive and on Saturdays to allow for the provision of a workforce safety zone.
No works are planned to be carried out on Sundays without the Council's consent.
All lane restrictions and traffic management arrangements will be kept under constant review to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
Councillor Mark Flewitt, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Planning and Transport, said every effort was being made to keep the town moving during the works.
He said: "I am very happy that this information is being made available to the public in advance of these works."
