Southend-on-Sea aims to blow the judges away in this year’s annual, up and coming Anglia in Bloom competition.

This year's contest is set to be a huge success and continue the tradition of showing off some of Southend's most fabulous flower displays.

Judges arrive at Prittlewell Priory Museum on Wednesday 11th July, at around 11am to begin their borough-wide tour.

They will see the Priory Park walled garden, The Trust Links, Growing Together Gardens, Springfield Drive allotments and will also have the chance to visit local schools.

Then they head into Leigh followed by their final visit to Chalkwell Park.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "I am delighted that Southend is taking part so enthusiastically again.

"It gives the town a chance to show its horticultural abilities, and is sure to draw in residents from far around with tremendous displays of colour and flower expertise."
