Jazz duo launches lunchtime concert series

Digby Fairweather and Tony Compton launch the new season of lunchtime concerts at Southend Civic Centre

Internationally acclaimed jazz musician Digby Fairweather and accordion player extraordinaire Tony Compton present a thrilling opening performance in Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s lunchtime concert season

 

From12:15pm on Wednesday 12th September, the duo will perform a 45-minute recital of music to suit all tastes, which is free for all to attend

The popular series of free lunchtime concerts showcases local and regionally- based soloists, duos and quartets to residents and visitors.

Concerts run monthly from September to June (excluding December) in the Council Chamber at Southend Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend. 

During the year audiences can enjoy performances by Hannah Woolmer and Larysa Khmurych (violin and piano), the Aquilo Trio, The Southend Piano Trio, as well as solo piano and vocal performances. Further details can be found on http://www.southend.gov.uk/  

There is a cafeteria for purchasing refreshments before or after the concerts.
