Tunes for all at the 2nd Pier Busking Festival.

Fancy hearing some top tunes for free? Then hurry down to Southend Pier for the spectacular Busking Festival on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September!

This busk-tastic event runs from 12 noon until 4pm on both days with a vibrant variety of live music from talented local and national musicians.

They include The Lamps, Headroom, Chris Davison from Silvertruth & Deferred Success, Jakob Deist, The Velvet Tree, The Isinglass Affair, Chris Baron and Men with Wood, who recently performed at the London 2012 Paralympics.

Most of the action can be seen and heard at the Pier Head but you may catch some of the acts at the shore end of the Pier too.

And there is still time for more musicians to sign up for this unique chance to perform on the World's longest pleasure pier.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis, said: "This is a really excellent opportunity for people to enjoy live performances of all kinds at a truly unique outdoor venue.

"We staged the Busking Festival on the Pier for the first time last year and it proved so popular, we are building on its previous success.

"We hope as many as possible will come along to experience the delights of this year's event!"

Any bands or musicians who would like to take part in the Busking Festival should contact Jane Brown via e-mail at janebrown@southend.gov.uk or Gill Hamer at gillianhamer@southend.gov.uk
