Is recycling just your bag?
Why not find out more at a free conference at the Park Inn Palace Hotel on Thursday 11th October!
The event at the hotel in Church Road, Southend, from 9am until 1:30pm is Southend's first Community Recycling Conference organised by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Cory Environmental.
It offers residents, businesses and group representatives a fantastic opportunity to learn more about recycling in Southend through talks, discussions and workshops.
There will be the chance to speak with key representatives from the recycling industry as well as to share ideas with volunteer Recycling Champions.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Public Protection and Waste, Councillor Tony Cox said: "Southend currently recycles 48 per cent of its household waste but our target is 60 per cent by 2015.
"This conference offers an excellent opportunity to learn about how we can all recycle more to help us reach this goal.
"There will be chances to find out what happens to the recyclables collected in Southend, and one of our recycling champions, Catherine Crabb will deliver a workshop on 'a day in the life of a Recycling Champion."
Conference delegates are invited to a free informal buffet lunch at the end of the proceedings.
To reserve your place at the conference, please email: southendrecycling@coryenvironmental.co.uk or tweet @RecycleSouthend.
