Dance all day in Southend for £3!

The Big Dance Day on Sunday 21st September at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre will give the chance for people from five years old upwards to try different dance styles all day for just £3

Everyone from five years old upwards can join in with a spectacular day of dance in Southend on Sunday 21st October for just £3.

 

 

This energetic and popular Big Dance Day full of fun and excitement is back for the third year running at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, Garon Park, Eastern Avenue, Southend  

The event from 10am until 4:45pm, is supported by Southend-on-Sea's Legacy 2012, and features a whole range of dance styles.  

No experience is necessary and the day is open to anyone aged from five upwards - but under 14's must be accompanied by an adult.  

Families are welcomed, and everyone can try as many or as few of these classes as they wish.

  • 10am - 10.45am Aerobics
  • 11am - 11.45am Zumba
  • 11.45am - 12.30pm Flamenco
  • 12.30pm - 1.15pm Salsa
  • 1.15pm - 2pm Bollywood Dance
  • 2pm - 2.45pm Street Dance
  • 3pm - 3.45pm Belly Dancing
  • 3.45pm - 4.45pm Brazilian Arte Dance

Each session will be led by an experienced dance instructor, taking participants through the basics of each dance style in a fun and informal way.  

No special clothing is required just loose, comfortable clothing and non-marking shoes.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "This is a terrific event which encourages residents and visitors to try out a host of new dance activities in a most inviting and affordable way."
