Have your say on play spaces

Published Wednesday 2nd June 10 in Council - news and information releases news

Calling all 8 to 13-year-olds! Southend-on-Sea Borough Council needs your views about how it can improve play spaces in the town.

On Saturday 5th June the Council will be consulting residents and visitors - especially those aged between 8 and 13 - about draft designs for play space improvements in the Borough.

Councillor Derek Jarvis, Executive Councillor for Culture, said: "We have been awarded national Playbuilder Status and we have already made great progress towards boosting play areas in the borough.

"These consultations mark phase three of our Playbuilder Programme to help us develop more challenging play spaces.

"We are very keen indeed to seek the opinions of children and young people who visit our play spaces to find out how they like to use these and ask for their views on various future designs.

"However, as well as those aged between 8 and13 we welcome all members of the community to these sessions where there will be the chance to meet play space designers face to face."
