Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: "This free scheme offers a great opportunity for members of the community, to meet up regularly to enjoy this beautiful park and keep fit
"We want to encourage people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability - this event is truly open to all.
"After the run there will be the chance to socialise with fellow runners at Uncle Tom's Cabin on Shoebury Common.
"All are welcome - from complete novices keen to start running, to seasoned athletes wanting to use this as a part of their training schedule.
"Meanwhile, every parkrun only happens because of the time and dedication of volunteers, and we would be very pleased to hear from anyone else who would like to volunteer too."
