Opening Times, Ticket Prices and Pier Train Information

The Pier train is currently out of action until further notice whilst emergency works take place.

However, the Pier is still open and members of the public can walk the Pier on foot.

Opening Times

Spring Season (21st March to 22nd May)

08:15 - 18:00 Monday to Friday 
08:15 - 20:00 Saturday and Sunday

Summer Season (23rd May to 4th September)

08:15 - 20:00 Daily

Autumn Season (5th September to 4th November) 

08:15 - 18:00 Monday to Friday 
08:15 - 20:00 Saturday and Sunday

Winter Season (5th November to March 2017)

09:15 - 17:00 Wednesday to Sunday

Regardless of the season the Pier will be open on all school and public holidays. With the exception of Christmas Day, when the Pier is closed.

The Pier is suitable for all ages and both the walkway and Pier trains have disabled access.

If you need a wheelchair, you can hire one from the Visitor Information Centre by calling them in advance on 01702 618747.

The Pier toilets are inside the Royal Pavilion.

Please note: The last entry onto the Pier is one hour before closing. Opening times are seasonal and may change annually.

Pier Train Information

Pier Trains leave the shore end of the Pier on every hour and half hour from opening until one hour before closing.

The trains leave the Pier Head every quarter to and quarter past the hour until 15 minutes before closing.

At peak times a two train service is operated. Trains leave both ends at a quarter past, half past, a quarter to, and on the hour.

Please note: No dogs or pets are allowed on Southend Pier except for assistance dogs.
