Southend Play Builder
Want to know more about children's play?
Visit the Hags website - the company who will be installing the new play areas for Southend and Play England - the organisation promoting and supporting children's play across England.
The money for the new play areas has come from the Government's Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) as well as from Southend Council and from the Cory Environmental Trust in Southend. You can find out more about the consultation that the DCSF carried out on developing a play strategy, which sets out many of their aims for this money by visiting the DCSF - Fair Play website.
Thank you to all those who took part in the last Southend Play Journey event. We have taken the comments onboard and will shortly be producing the draft designs for the next play spaces to be improved as part of the third round of the Playbuilder program.
We are keen that young people are able talk to us about how they like to use their play spaces and have the opportunity to comment on the designs. To enable this to happen we will be running a meet the designer session at each site. All members of the community are welcome. However, we are very keen to receive the views of young people especially those between 8 and 13 years.
The sessions will take place on Saturday 5th June as follows:
