Site Search Help
To use our Search facility, enter the terms you are looking for in the search box
and click the 'Search' button. You can use as many words as you think likely to
be in the page you are looking for.
The Search facility will return any pages matching your query in order of relevancy.
If too many pages are returned, or you do not find the page most relevant to your
query, there are things you can do to improve the results. Pages with your query in
their title will be ranked higher.
Examples
- Query: council tax
- Returns pages that contain either the word "council" or "tax"
- Query: "council tax"
- Surrounding the query in quotes returns pages that contain the phrase "council tax"
- Query: council -tax
- A minus sign before a query returns pages that contain the word "council" but not the word "tax"
- Query: +council +tax
- A plus sign before a query returns pages that contain both words "council" and "tax"
Did you mean...?
If you make a spelling error in your query, the search facility will automatically
suggest the correct spelling. It will only suggest corrections for words in our
search index; there is no point suggesting words not in the index
after all. If the suggestion appears helpful, simply click it and a new search will
hopefully produce more helpful results.
