Housing Options

Local authorities have the most homes to rent, but new housing developments are undertaken by housing associations. However, as you may be aware there is a shortage of properties available to let in Southend, this coupled with the huge demand for accommodation, means that Council and Housing Association properties are not widely available and usually only go to those in greatest need.

Unfortunately it is impossible to offer everyone accommodation, even if you are accepted onto the Homeseekers Register it could still take many months before you successfully bid on a property using the On the Move Choice Based Lettings scheme.

You may need to make your own arrangements or remain in your current home until you receive an offer of a Council or Housing Association tenancy. Therefore we have developed a range of housing options for you to explore.
