Community Cohesion

community cohesion

Welcome to our community cohesion page.  We and our partners have made significant progress towards making Southend a more cohesive community based on rights, responsibilities and respect.

A cohesive community is one that focuses on what people have in common rather than their differences and includes, integrates and meaningfully involves its members.

We are proud of our work towards reducing hate crime, welcoming new members of our community, and breaking down barriers to effective cohesion.

Our Vision:
To create a community, with pride and belonging, where people work together in partnership and understanding to improve quality of life, for life, for all.

For more information about our work, see the Southend Together Partnership Community Cohesion Strategy 2009 - 2011 under Related Downloads at the right hand side of this page.
