Your Southend, Your Say
Have your say on how the Council’s budget is built
How would you prioritise services & make 10% savings?
Our online budget simulator is now live. It has been designed to allow you to try and "balance the Borough's books" and help the Council meet the Government's spending challenge.
The app, which was used for the first time last year, will let you choose different ways to draw up a budget and make required savings and appreciate the difficulties of planning multi-million pound finances as well as offering an insight into their priorities.
View our webpage Budget 2012- 2013 for findings from last year's simulator and consultation.
This is the second year running we have used the online simulator - we want you to try it again and see how you get on this time. It will start the consultation process and will allow you to see the possible impact and consequences of making a 10 per cent saving. The findings, along with public consultations to be held later in the year, will help the Council compile its draft, balanced budget for 2013/14.
Completing the simulator will help you understand: the complexity of the budget-setting process; how challenging it is to find savings and the trade off between services, while being able to see the possible consequences.
You have until Sunday 2nd September 2012 to take the challenge.
| Please note: The Budget Simulator Challenge is now closed. |
