Scrap Metal Dealers

What is a Scrap Metal Dealer?

You will be classed as a scrap metal dealer if any of the following apply:

  • the dealer occupies a place as a scrap metal store in the borough
  • the dealer does not occupy a place as a scrap metal store but has a usual place of residence in the borough
  • the dealer does not occupy a place as a scrap metal store but occupies a place for business purposes

Costs

There is no fee to register as a scrap metal dealer.

You can apply online. This is a quick and easy way of completing your application. The online form is located at the right hand side of this page.  

Alternatively you can apply in writing using the forms in our related download section. 

Registrations last for three years and then must be renewed using the application form.
