Supporting People
What is Supporting People?
If you are over 18 with a local connection to Southend, we can help you build the skills you need to live independently and manage your own home.
This could be in sheltered, leasehold or supported housing or in your own home.
We can help if you are:
- homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- a teenage parent, leaving care or a young person at risk
- an older person needing support
- a refugee or asylum seeker
Or if you have:
- a physical or sensory impairment
- a learning disability
- a mental health problem
We aim to help people with other needs and from other backgrounds too. A full list of services funded by the Southend Supporting People Programme can be found under Related downloads - About Supporting People. Specific information about individual services can be found on the SHIP website.
To find out more about our services please see our leaflets in the related downloads section on the right of this page, including 'Information for Service Users' for meeting minutes.
