Better Southend - Cuckoo Corner

The Better Southend improvement works at Cuckoo Corner have been completed. The roundabout is flowing well, especially at peak times. The works were completed slightly ahead of their end of March 2011 deadline. The works involved widening the approaches to the roundabout and the circulatory of the roundabout itself to improve the capacity at this busy junction. Traffic lights have been installed as part of this scheme.

Landscaping works have taken place on the roundabout itself and the immediate surrounding area. The new gates are also open to Priory Park, meaning that pedestrians can now access the park from the roundabout side for the first time.

We appreciate that some of the works may have caused inconvenience to both motorists and residents, however we would like to say a big thank you for bearing with us whilst these works took place.
