Planning Application Forms and Checklists
All applications to us must be submitted on the relevant 1APP forms together with the checklist. We encourage you to submit your application online using the Planning Portal in which case you will only need to download the relevant checklist from the list below to attach to your application. However, if you wish to submit your application as a hard copy, forms can be downloaded from this page.

Separate consent must be obtained for internal and external alterations, extensions or demolition of any Listed Building which is included in the statutory List of Buildings of Architectural or Historic Interest, or is the subject of a Building Preservation Notice. | Removal or Variation of a Condition |
This application type can be used for minor amendments to applications where permissions/consents include a condition detailing the approved plan numbers. |

| Lawful Development Certificate for a proposed use or development |
If you are in doubt whether your proposal requires a planning permission, you may apply to the Council for a Lawful Development Certificate for a proposed use or development. |

| Lawful Development Certificate for an Existing use or operation or activity including those in breach of a planning condition |
If you wish to obtain a certificate to prove that the use of land/buildings has been taking place continuously for more than 4 years in respect of a residential use or 10 years in respect of a commercial use, or that building works were carried out more than 4 years ago (i.e. a sufficient time to make the use/works immune from challenge as being an unauthorised), you may apply to the Council for a Lawful Development for the Existing use or building works. Such applications need to be accompanied by a site plan (and floorplans if relating to part of a property) illustrating the land and/or premises. Documentary evidence substantiating the application must also be submitted. |

| Proposed Notification: Proposed Demolition |
Application for Prior Notification of Proposed Demolition Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 Schedule 2, Part 31. The Application for Prior Notification of Proposed Demolition form should be used for proposals to demolish a building or structure. The purpose of this control is to give local planning authorities the opportunity to regulate the details of demolition in order to minimise the impact of that activity on local amenity. | Extension of Time Limits |
Application for Extensions to the time limits for implementing planning permissions and associated listed building and/or conservation area consents. You are advised this application can only be submitted if a permission/consent is extant (i.e not yet expired). Further guidance on Greater Flexibility for planning permissions has been published by DCLG. |

| Non-Material Amendment |
You are advised to contact Development Control prior to submitting an application for a non-material amendment to an existing permission as this procedure cannot be used for material alterations to approved schemes. If the proposed alteration is considered to be material then you will need to submit a full application - see below for details. Further guidance on Greater flexibility for planning permissions has been published by Department of Communities and Local Government relating to extension of time limits of permissions, and amendments to existing permissions. |

| Hazardous Substances |
Hazardous Substances Consent is required for the presence on any site of hazardous substances at or above controlled quantities. See 'Hazardous Substances Consent: A guide for industry' published by DCLG for further information. |

Householder Application Forms |
These forms are to be used for works or extensions to a dwelling house. The definition of householder developer includes extensions, conservatories, loft conversions, dormer windows, alterations, garages, car ports or outbuildings, swimming pools, walls, fences, domestic vehicular accesses including footway crossovers, porches and satellite dishes; and excludes applications relating to any work to one or more flats, applications to change the number of dwellings (flat conversions or building a separate house in the garden), changes of use to part or all of the property to non-residential (including business) uses, anything outside the garden of the property (including stables if in a separate paddock). |

Work to Trees or Hedgerow Removal |
Work to protected trees (Tree Preservation Order/Conservation area) or notification of hedgerow removal. Permission must be obtained from us before any tree that is the subject of a Preservation Order or within a Conservation Area is lopped or felled. Site plans should be provided and the applicants should confirm that they are the owners of the land on which the tree stands or provide evidence that the owner agrees to the proposal. |

Public Utilities
Where the development will involve the provision of gas, electricity, water or telephone services the developer should give notice of their proposal at the earliest practicable date to the undertakers responsible for the services needed. In the event of the proposed building being within 60m of any overhead transmission line the appropriate electricity authority should be notified.
