What we do

The Southend Interfaith Working Group (SIWG), set up in 2012, is a partnership between Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and local faith and belief groups who aim to improve communication and facilitate faith groups support for the wider Southend-on-Sea community.

Our objectives:

  • To develop effective working relationships between the Council and all faith groups in the Borough of Southend-on-Sea.
  • To provide a strategic overview in relation to how faith communities can support the wider community of Southend-on-Sea.

Who are the SIWG?

The group includes members of the Council and representatives from local faith and belief groups.

We do not claim to speak for all but we attempt to represent all faiths, beliefs and interests.

When and where do we meet?

We meet quarterly at venues across the Borough.

If you are interested in becoming a member of this group and/or would like to find out more, please contact interfaith@southend.gov.uk

Next meeting:

Thursday 15 March 2018 at the Quakers Meeting House in Leigh-on-Sea
