Ofsted is the regulatory body that govern organisations such as Nurseries, Pre-schools, Childminders, Schools, Colleges and Children's Centres. They grade settings based on the observations and reviews they conduct, these may be Outstanding, Good, Satisfactory, Inadequate or Met.


Inspection Reports

To view inspection reports please click the following link and enter the setting's or childminder's Unique Reference Number (URN). Nursery classes attached to a school are registered under the schools URN.

Search Ofsted Registered Providers

The Open Family Services website lists registered providers within the Southend-on-Sea Borough. For most cases there will be a direct link under each record to their 'Latest Ofsted Report'.

Becoming a Childminder

You can apply through Ofsted direct to become a Registered Childminder, however, we also recommend that you talk to the local National Child Minding Association (NCMA) representatives before applying.
