About Supporting People
The Supporting People programme offers vulnerable people the opportunity to improve their quality of life by providing a stable environment which enables greater independence.
It delivers housing-related support services which are cost effective, reliable and complement existing care services.
Housing-related support can include support with some or all of the following:
- setting up a home
- developing life and domestic skills
- managing finances and benefit claims
- gaining access to other services and community organisations
- establishing social contacts and activities
- establishing safety and security
- monitoring health and well being
- support with a range of other housing-related matters that can help someone live independently
The Supporting People Team is responsible for monitoring all the support services funded through the programme. We do this in partnership with the Health Authority, the Probation Service, other stakeholders and service users.
