If you want a wedding which includes a small group of family and friends but is still personalised to you and your partners tastes, then The Victoria Room is the right place for you. This venue may be of interest if you are on a slightly smaller budget but still want to enjoy the comfort of your own music choices, readings and personal vows in a modern and intimate setting.
The air conditioned ceremony room provides a classical setting and is tastefully decorated with a colour scheme of dusky pink and cream. This is complemented with an art deco chandelier and beech wood panelling. This venue is suitable for the couple, their 2 witnesses and up to 16 guests and we conduct these ceremonies Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.
After your ceremony has concluded and the confetti has been thrown, you can take a short walk to Churchill Gardens where your photographer can let the attractive greenery and water features inspire them for some photos to cherish. The venue is also close to Southend’s high street and famous seafront, with numerous top locations available for your reception (should you have one).

Before booking any ceremony you should always ensure you understand the procedure of giving your ‘Notice of Marriage’ and how you should go about booking your wedding. You can find information on this by going to our documents and legal formalities page.
If the Victoria Room is the right venue for your big day, you will need to complete the provisional civil wedding booking form in order to book it. On completion of this form it will ask for a deposit amount of £50.00 which will be deducted from the final payment.

The pricing structure for hiring the Victoria Room for your wedding is as follows:
- Monday to Thursday - £280.00, Friday and Saturday £395.00
Parking
There is parking in the North Car Park at the Civic Centre.
Disabled access
The Victoria Room is located on the ground floor of the Civic Centre building. All of the entrances into the Civic Centre and wedding rooms are suitable for wheelchair users.
