  • 166 tonnes of rubbish collected daily
  • 52 tonnes of pink recycling sacks, paper and card collected daily
  • 175 miles of streets swept, and litter picked by Veolia each day

How you can help

  • put your recycling and waste at the edge of your property by 7am on your correct collection day
  • never put your recycling or waste out early or on non-collection days
  • if you have large items to get rid of think about giving them to a charity or to the re-use shop at the Stock Road Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), or they can be collected using the bulky waste collection service or taken to one of the HWRCs
  • look at how you can reduce the waste you create
  • look at what can be recycled and make sure it is in the correct box, bin or sack, ready for collection
  • use the food waste service – it will be turned into green energy
  • if you use the garden waste service put garden leaves into your bin
  • don’t litter. Please use litter bins or take your rubbish home, litter is bad for the environment and can harm animals
