Due to the requirements to only undertake essential travel you should only visit the Cemetery and Crematorium for the following:

Recycling and Waste

In line with the Government's national lockdown guidance, household waste recycling centres in Southend-on-Sea remain open during normal opening hours. However, we strongly advise that you should only travel to a recycling centre to dispose of waste that you cannot safely store at home. We are asking residents to dispose of their recycling and waste through their kerbside collection wherever possible to minimise unnecessary journeys. The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.

Southend Pier

Southend Pier is closed until further notice.

The click and collect service is operating from all libraries.

Branch Libraries will be open from 10am to 4pm, with The Forum open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday to allow your selections and reservations to be collected.

Measures are in place to ensure your safety and that of our teams: face coverings should be worn whilst in the library and with admission limited to aid social distancing, we ask you to restrict your visit to 20 minutes or less. Our self-service machines are available for you to issue your selections and sanitizing stations are conveniently situated within each library. All returned items will be quarantined before being returned to open shelves.
