Southend Crematorium back of house refurbishment
Refurbishment and improvements work will be taking place on Southend Crematorium between January 2023 and December 2023.
The equipment at the crematorium is being replaced with modern more efficient equipment which will ensure we can continue to offer our services and remain complaint with current environmental regulations. Significant changes are being made to the internal layout whilst externally the notable change will be the removal of the chimney.
This provides us with the opportunity to improve the building for the public, including ramp access to the west chapel, replacing the public toilets and waiting areas. As well as changes to welfare faculties for staff.
For these works to be manageable the South chapel will be closed until the works have been completed. Services will only take place on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Please note building works likely to cause a noise will take place Friday through to Monday (including weekends).
