Local Outbreak Management Plan
Purpose of this document
The Local Outbreak Management Plan is an update to the Local Outbreak Control Plan which was set out in June 2020. The document sets out the arrangements for ongoing local surveillance and the actions that will be taken in response to local outbreaks if and when they happen.
The Local Outbreak Management Plan is a working document and will be updated to reflect changes to ensure it remains up to date and can be successfully used during outbreaks.
The Local Outbreak Management Plan is primarily about controlling outbreaks. However, preventing spread of the virus is critically important to prevent localised outbreaks. Testing and vaccination are both key to our recovery and the approaches to these are outlined in the plan. Southend-on-Sea residents need to continue to follow national guidance on getting tested, self-isolating where necessary, social distancing, washing hands, and using face coverings where needed in public places.
