Primary School Admissions
It is the responsibility of parents to apply for a school place at the correct times. You will not receive any letters from Southend-on-Sea Borough Council to inform you that you must apply for your child’s school place.
Primary School Admissions to reception and year 3 at an Infant, Junior or Primary School are received and processed for all schools in the borough by the School Admissions Team, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council for all residents in the borough. Admissions during the school year are called In-year admissions. Application forms and further details about in-year admission should be made by selecting 'in-year admissions' on this web site.
Primary School Admission 2019 (main round to years R and 3, all other applications are called 'in-year')
Applications for a September 2019 start in Reception year or transfer to the junior school or move schools for Year 3 can be submitted between 14 September 2018 and 15 January 2019. Parents can register and submit an application form online or they can download a paper form for year R and the paper form for year 3 (available from 14 September). A reminder that parents can view their offer from midnight on offer day and paper applications receive the offer via the post and therefore parents may not receive the offer on offer day but a day later, depending on the post.

The full admission policies are available in the Primary admission booklet 2019 which will be published in the week of 17 September 2018. You must submit an application by 15 January 2019.
Is your child in a primary school?
