What is Shared Lives?

Our Shared Lives scheme supports people to live in ordinary places.

To be a part of the community.

To get support from ordinary people and be part of family life.

You can stay for short breaks or live in the carers own home.

You can have day support with a carer.

You can be living in your own place in the community with support from your carer.

Everyone who is a Shared Lives carer has been checked by the Council to make sure that they are ok to support you.

You will meet them before the adult placement starts to make sure that you get along with them.

Shared Lives carers get full training to provide the right support.

They will be paid for the support they give you.
