They are elected by residents to decide how the council should carry out its various activities. They represent the interests of the residents who live in the ward in which they have been elected to serve.
They have regular contact with the public through:
- council meetings
- phone calls
- surgeries
Surgeries are a chance for any resident to go and talk to their councillor. These take place on a regular basis.
