Elections and Register to Vote
UK Parliamentary Election 2019
The UK Parliamentary election will take place on Thursday 12 December 2019. Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.
You must be registered in order to vote. If you are registered to vote in person you must vote at your assigned polling station. Enter your postcode into the Democracy Club Polling Station Finder to find out where that is.
Please see the timetable for information on other key dates.
If you are an overseas elector and do not currently have any voting arrangements in place, please consider the following;
You may wish to consider applying to vote by proxy which means a registered elector nominated by you attends the polling station and votes on your behalf. The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 4th December 2019.
Alternatively, if you wish to vote by post the deadline for completed applications is 5pm onTuesday 26th November 2019. Whilst we will endeavour to dispatch postal packs as early as possible we are unable to guarantee when you will receive your pack.
Poll cards will be going out between Friday 8 November – Friday 15 November. If you do not receive a poll card it could be that you are not registered or you are not entitled to be registered due to your nationality.
Please contact the electoral office to check you are registered.
You do not need your poll card to enable you to vote as long as you are registered.
