Opening Times

The Customer Service Centre is open to the public between 8.45am and 5.15pm daily, Monday to Friday. At all other times, for emergencies only, an Out of Hours Service operates on 01702 215000.


The Customer Service Centre can be found on the ground floor of the Civic Centre.

Handing in documentation

If you are unable to email or upload your documentation from home, you can hand in documentation in support of your Housing/Council Tax Reduction, Bus Pass or Blue Badge application at the Civic Centre scanning desk between 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday. 

Council Tax

Council Tax enquiries are now dealt with through our MySouthend Portal.

Access Arrangements


We offer a Translation service which includes information in large print.

Disabled Access

Parking for Blue Badge holders is available and the entrances into our building and Customer Service Centre are suitable for wheelchair users. Our facilities comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.

A magnified page reader and signature guide are available at reception.

Toilet facilities for those with disabilities are available, with access via Radar key which can be requested from the Registration Services Reception, if you do not have your own.
