Health4Life is a healthy weight programme for children and young people who live in Southend-on-Sea.
The programme, created in partnership with us and Southend United Football Club Community Trust aims to help local children and families enjoy a healthy and happy lifestyle.
Take part fun in activities professionally planned by the Southend United Football Club Community Trust.
Fun classes cover healthy eating, cooking on a budget, understanding food labels, creating balanced meals and fun ways to keep active as a family.
Health4Life is a free, 6-week programme for 5 – 16 year olds, consisting of weekly 2 hour sessions.
It will highlight small easy to make lifestyle changes to keep excess weight off. Including; swapping to low sugar versions of favourite drinks and cereals and taking part in enjoyable exercise or activities locally.
Weekly topics include:
- The Eatwell Guide, eating out and the importance of sleep
- Sugar and caffeine in drinks
- Fruit and vegetables tasting – blind taste testing
Physical activities weekly sessions include:
- Football skills
