With spring in the air, what better way to enjoy Southend than to celebrate both its fantastic pier and cultural heritage this weekend (13-14 April).

Traditional music and dance connected to the famous Leigh Folk Festival will be performed a mile out to sea at the Royal Pavilion this Saturday and Sunday.

The Folk and Ale Festival welcomes many local performers along with a pop up ‘real ale’ bar to Southend Pier in this annual event that runs from 11.30 – 5.30 both days.

The event is free but usual pier entry fees apply.
